If you are, exploring organic foods, the Know Your Colors shelf tag can make it easy to shop and enjoy items in every aisle. Consumer demand for organic foods continues to grow, and Price Chopper/Market 32 sourcing teams are working with farmers and producers to bring exciting new items to the shelf!
Organic production and labeling is strictly regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Know Your Colors standard for Organic at Price Chopper and Market 32 mirrors the USDA requirements – the product states organic on the label or has the USDA organic certification seal. Organic items from other countries must be grown and processed according to USDA regulations. Those regulations are enforced by inspection and certification by a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) accredited certification agency. The USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) is in charge of certification, inspection agency accreditation and regulation enforcement. The goal is to ensure all standards are met, organic items are grown on organic farms and consumers can be confident in the organic process and USDA seal.

The Organic color guide on shelf tags in stores is dark green, and may help time-crunched shoppers locate items that meet lifestyle goals. Please see the standards below for the full criteria. The Know Your Colors Program (https://cms-uat-pch.unataops.com/know-your-colors/) is intended for general nutrition information and not as a treatment for any issue or condition.
Please consult your healthcare provider and/or registered dietitian-nutritionist for information directly relating to individual health needs. Read the entire food label to get complete information on any product. It is anticipated that the Know Your Colors standards may be updated or changed as national guidelines, including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, are revised to include new evidence and science.
